RACHAEL MANTELLI

BIOGRAPHY

A native of Upstate New York, Rachael is a full-time music teacher and community musician who seeks to enrich the lives of students of all ages, through the disciplines of instrument learning and music making. She began her piano studies at the age of five and at age nine, began violin lessons. Rachael quickly found music to be her passion and continued her education in violin and piano through the Hochstein School of Music and Eastman School of Music in the city of Rochester. After earning a bachelor's degree in Violin Performance in 2012, Rachael became a resident of South Carolina and held a full-time teaching position at Pinner Studios from 2012 to 2016. From 2016 to 2023, Rachael began Mantelli Music Studios where she taught weekly individual lessons on violin, viola, and piano. Her students participated regularly in local youth orchestras and music camps, and have won principal seats and camp scholarship awards.

Rachael has worked as the strings instructor at fine arts camps in upstate New York as well as a music festival week in São Luis, Brazil. In 2018, she was invited to perform alongside the Salzburg Symphony and the World Choral Festival in Salzburg, Austria. From 2014-2020, Rachael held the position as Strings Director at St. Joseph's Catholic School in Greenville, SC. She held a church keyboard position at Harvest Anglican Church beginning in February 2022 until moving back to New York in July 2023. Rachael performs regularly for weddings and has been a a member of Carolina Music Planner and Greenville Wedding Music. 

Rachael continues her pursuit of excellence in pedagogical studies through her participation in the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at the Juilliard School in NYC and has been an active participant since 2013. While living in South Carolina, she remained active in the Greenville area performing in the region’s professional orchestras, including the Piedmont Chamber Orchestra, Hendersonville Symphony Orchestra, and for various musicals and summer festivals.
